TT Racing

TT 2002 Review DVD
What a blast! What a party! The TT is back - bigger and better than ever before. Records tumbled as road racing's finest blasted round the course in a maelstrom of high speed duels and thunderous racing. All eyes were on David Jefferies. In 2000 he broke the 125mph barrier; in this year's Duke F1 race he obliterated his own record with an incredible 126.68mph lap - then went even faster in the Senior at an astonishing 127.29mph!
TAS Suzuki team-mate Ian Lougher took two wins and three seconds and there were wins for Jim Moodie and Bruce Anstey. Rob Fisher became the most successful sidecar racer ever on the island and Manxman Richard 'Milky' Quayle recorded a tremendous win in the 400 race! Jam packed with stunning action highlights, there's plenty of apres-race high-jinks and mad antics crammed in here too.
This is one-hundred-and-ninety-miles-an-hour action, filmed from the ground (so close you can almost feel the shockwaves of the top men blasting past!) and from the air with the most fantastic pictures yet of two-wheeled missiles hurtling through the countryside. For electrifying on-board footage and awesome picture quality that you'll want to slo-mo time and again, flick into top gear for the offical story of TT 2002. It rocks!

The History Of The TT 1907-2000
The definitive history of the world famous Isle of Man Tourist Trophy Races 1907-2000.
It began as a test of motorcycle reliability and grew into the world's greatest road racing festival. For over 90 years the TT has attracted the best and bravest riders to challenge the various TT courses epitomised by the mighty 37.73 mile Mountain Circuit. Now you can explore the heritage and legend of the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy Races in this historically significant DVD.
Superb footage, interviews and narrative tell the story of the TT from its beginnings in 1907. Based on the highly-acclaimed three part Isle of Man TT Races video set (1907-1996), the DVD contains revised, updated and extended footage plus additional material featuring the years up to and including 2000 and the dawn of a new era of road racing.
Producer David Wood scoured thousands of hours of film and archive footage and recorded dozens of interviews with riders and personalities to bring you these memorable sights and sounds. We feature the very first races and there is action from every year from 1920 onwards plus every Senior Race winner. This really is the complete story - the challenge and the glory; the famous names and memorable races; the excitement and unique drama - celebrated on one magnificent DVD.
PLUS!
Sounds of the TT 1957-1968
Enjoy the glorious sounds of the TT during motorcycle racing's golden era. From the Manx Norton to the Yamaha 125/4, you'll be enthralled by over 70 sounds of legendary bikes and riders on 'full song' at the TT! £19.99

North West 200 2002 DVD
The North West 200 has always been big, but in 2002 it was bigger and better than ever. 130,000 fans lined the 8.9 mile circuit to see their heroes in action.
Michael Rutter hoped to equal his father's tally of 11 race wins but a run of bad luck scuppered his chances. 'Flying Kiwi' Bruce Anstey had more luck; he achieved a dream debut and wrote his name in the history books as the first newcomer to win at the NW200. But perhaps the highlight of the day was the supremely intense battle between Adrian Archibald and Iain Duffus in the Feature Superbike Race. The pair were so close, the clocks couldn't separate them and as they crossed the line they were neck and neck!
These official highlights feature the best action from hotshots such as David Jefferies and Richard Britton, John McGuinness and Jim Moodie and of course Ian Lougher who racked up a fistful of fastest laps.
Rider interviews and background info plus a superb commentary from Keith Huewen add to this road racing spectacle. And best of all: specially filmed on-board shots put you right in the thick of the action around the 'Triangle'.
This is the big picture, the inside story, the definitive record. So sit back and enjoy a concentrated blast of road racing in its purest, scariest form!

EXTRA DVD FEATURE!
On-board and uncut footage with Ryan Farquhar and Richard Britton. dvd £14.99, Video £12.99

100 Years Of Triumph DVD
The Triumph story is now a hundred years old as the first motorcycle, known as No.1 found its way into the Triumph's catalogue in 1902. Since then of course an endless stream of famous models have flowed off the lines at Priory Street, Meriden and now Hinkley. Names such as the Trusty in 1914, the Ricky - a fast roadster brought out in 1922 which could reach a speed of 65mph, the Horsman, Tiger and, the best motorcycle of all the pre war machines, the famous Speed Twin.
All these names evoke in the imagination a picture of power combined with that special Triumph individuality. During the war tragedy struck and the factory was destroyed when Hitler's airforce attacked Coventry. But from this disaster the most famous of all Triumph's works grew - the factory at Meriden.
Although there was a long gap in production along with a crippling shortage of man power by the end of the war, Triumph still managed to produce nearly 50,000 machines for the military. After the war more famous names graced great new machines - Trophy, Thunderbird, and of course in 1959, the Bonneville, the engine of which owed a great deal to American racers. Other names such as Daytona and Trident also graced hit the roads of the USA, Britain and other countries, but the Japanese influence started to take its effect and Triumph sales dropped until the company ceased production. Also sadly an attempt by the 'Meridan Co-operative' with government help failed to keep Triumph afloat, and in 1983 production of the last Bonneville at Meriden ceased when the receiver was called in.
Now we come to the second part of the story. In 1983 John Bloor purchased the site at Meridan along with all rights to the name. Five years later, after lots of speculation and whispers in the industry, a press release finally announced that a whole new range of Triumphs would be manufactured from a new works in Hinckley. 1992 saw the end of the first full year of production during which nearly five thousand motorcycles had been produced, and today this figure is over thirty thousand.

Reigning world champion Mickael Pichon faced stiff competition from old rivals Pit Beirer and Josh Coppins. The Frenchman began the tournament favourite and after his opeining victory, he never looked back. Eleven wins from twelve races saw the Corona Suzuki rider storm to the world title in a display of motocross mastery. At the final round in Russia, Pichon made the podium to record his ninth successive win, beating the all-time record set by Joel Smets of Belgium, and writing his name into motocross history.
Motocross competition at this level never ceases to amaze with high-flying action and painful crashes. A range of camera angles, including some unbelievable on-bike footage and post-race interviews from every round give you an awesome insight into action that goes unseen in the stands.

World Outdoor Trials Review 2002
Available on DVD for the first time ever!
It's not speed, it's a battle between rider and terrain. The impossible happens.
With a range of innovative courses, and a host of up-and-coming competitors, the World Outdoor Trials Championship gets stronger every year. Reigning world champion Dougie Lampkin is always one step ahead. The man from Yorkshire has single-handedly pushed the parameters of trials bike riding and, in 2002, he really let it rip!
Gunning for his sixth outdoor trials championship. Lampkin cut an imposing figure on his Montesa Honda. Standing in his way was a field of top-class competitors including Albert Cabestany, Takahisa Fujinami, Adam Raga and fellow Brit Steve Colley. The champion dominated proceedings with an awesome display of power and control, his closest challenge coming from Honda team mate Fujinami. At the final round of the season in Motegi, an animated Japanese crowd saw Lampkin retain his world crown in style.
Don't miss a beat as the whole story of his historic season is told through a range of camera angles, informative commentary and insightful interviews. With high quality action from every round, this fantastic review features all the thrills and spills from another eventful championship!
